The National Black Women's Network

The NBWN is a non-profit organisation dedicated to raising the status and position of black women in all walks of life.

We provide dynamic initiatives, enabling women from diverse backgrounds and occupations to develop strong professional and social contacts; high quality training and education programmes; leadership and national recognition.

We work to ensure that the contributions and influence of black women are recognised as vital forces within the public and private sector, business, corporate, arts, media and entertainment fields.

Over 2,200 students chose to study A levels at Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth 1 College and your expertise can support the College achieve its ambition for excellence.  As a governor your insight, knowledge and ideas will widen the perspective, knowledge and skills of our board of governors (Corporation) in leading this very successful and well respected Sixth Form College.

We are looking to appoint someone who can demonstrate sound business acumen; an individual who has a track record of operating strategically.  Perhaps you are that person who wants to develop their expertise through this voluntary role and help lead the College through a challenging period for six form colleges. The broader your vocational background and cultural experience the better in further encouraging the success of our students.

The Corporation has a strong commitment to equality and diversity and encourages applications from under-represented groups which may include women, ethnic minorities and people with disabilities.
