Quote of the Day

Everything you need you already have. You are complete right now; you are a whole, total person, not an apprentice person on the way to someplace else. Your completeness must be understood by you and experienced in your thoughts as your own personal reality.

Why are black women less likely to marry?

Hi,

As a norm I never buy the 'Voice Newspaper'. I was told about the article the title of this blog by a male friend and in a mad frenzy I rushed out tand purchased the artice.

I read the article which in summary states that the more educated you are as a black woman, the less likely you are to be married and with a child. Our white female counterparts are doing a lot better. I do recall when I was at Law School the long lecture I go from my mother about making sure I get an education and yes… Continue

CAN WE ALL MAKE TIME FOR SOME GREAT SISTATALK?

Summer is here and its marks the half-way period into 2010. How are we are all doing? Have we remembered to look out for those mums with little ones suffering from autism, cerebral palsy and other conditions? I keep my own counsel and my sharing starts with me!

Sonia Brown Speaks

Do we ever question how we are reacting to circumstances and situations when they manifest in our lives.

Do we play the victim when we don’t want to take responsibility for our decisions and actions? Is it easier to shift the blame on someone else for not getting what we want out of life, rather than looking at how we could have taken control of the situation to get a more positive result. Check for patterns in your life where you tend to be making more excuses than solutions for your achieving your goals.

Are you the arch manipulator constantly scheming, exploiting and distorting facts to get your own way irrespective of the harm that you are doing to other people? Poor you, being excluded, ignored or denied your own way just because you don’t want to take the knocks that life throws your way.

How often have we played the drama queen to gain attention? We take every perceived slight, issue and challenge and blow it up into a ‘smash hit’ soap opera – what a waste of energy!

Let’s find healthier and more productive ways to deal with life. If your current strategy is not working for you then you need to change the way you look at things because this will help you to change the way you respond to challenges in your life. This is what will give you true power and control over your life.
